Second Stage Round 8: Slask Wroclaw - Polpharma 78-82

There was a minor upset when second-ranked Slask Wroclaw (16-14) lost at home to fourth ranked Polpharma (9-21) 82-78 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Polpharma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. The former international Marcin Kosinski (186-85) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Paul Miller (208-82, college: Wichita St.) replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Robert Skibniewski (182-83) added 14 points and 7 assists in the effort for Slask Wroclaw. Five Polpharma and four Slask Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Polpharma maintains fourth position in Places 7-12 with 9-21 record. Newly promoted Slask Wroclaw keeps the second place with 14 games lost. Polpharma will face higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Slask Wroclaw will play against the league's leader Asseco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
