Important game to mention about took place in Bologna. Ninth ranked Cimberio Varese (12-15) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 12th ranked Granarolo BO (11-16) 78-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Granarolo BO. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) who led the winners and scored 24 points. point guard Andrea De Nicolao (185-91) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Cimberio Varese's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Matt Walsh (197-82, college: Florida) came up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Granarolo BO in the defeat. Four Granarolo BO players scored in double figures. Cimberio Varese maintains ninth place with 12-15 record, which they share with Giorgo Tesi PT. Granarolo BO at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Umana VE and Sidigas AV. Cimberio Varese will play against Vanoli Cremona (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Granarolo BO will play against VL Pesaro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
