Regular Season Round 25: COB Calais - Reims 76-63

Very predictable result when first ranked COB Calais (23-1) defeated at home 8th ranked Reims (11-14) 76-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. COB Calais dominated on the defensive end, holding Reims to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Reims' 28. They outrebounded Reims 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Point guard Aurelie Cibert (168-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. COB Calais' coach Kevin Brohan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Pauline Lithard (168-94) scored 11 points. COB Calais have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-1 record. Reims at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. COB Calais will face league's second-placed Roche in La Roche in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Reims will play at home against CFBB (#14) and hope to win that game.
