Very predictable result when third ranked Cantu (18-9) defeated at home 13th ranked Umana Venezia (11-16) 88-75. The game without a history. Cantu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Andre Smith (204-85, college: N.Dakota St.) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Umana Venezia. Five Cantu and four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Cantu moved-up to second place, which they share with Montepaschi and Enel Brindisi. Umana Venezia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Cantu's next round opponent will be Sutor Montegranaro (#15) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Umana Venezia will play against Trenkwalder RE (#7) and hope to win that game.
