Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Pontoise (11-21) lost to fifth ranked Sorgues BC (21-11) in Cergy 76-83 on Saturday. Pontoise was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The winners were led by American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) who scored that evening 28 points and center Xavier Pasut (200-84) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Sorgues BC players scored in double figures. Even 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by swingman Parfait Njiba (199-89) did not help to save the game for Pontoise. Forward Croucgnan Mendy (196-88) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Pontoise's coach Ludovic Pouillart rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sorgues BC maintains fifth position with 21-11 record. Newly promoted Pontoise keeps the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. Sorgues BC will meet Saint Chamond (#7) on the road in the next round. Pontoise will play against Montbrison (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
