Quarter-Finals Round 3: Oberwart - Gussing 63-68

Gussing upset Oberwart on the road to take 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 35-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gussing Knights dominated on the defensive end, holding Redwell Gunners Oberwart to just 7 points in third quarter. 24 personal fouls committed by Redwell Gunners Oberwart helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) helped adding 12 points and 12 rebounds. Heard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gussing Knights players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Abe Lodwick (201-88, college: Washington St.) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds.
