Regular Season Round 56: Shinshu BW - Sendai 89ers 113-91

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Sendai 89ers (24-26) were smashed by fourth ranked Shinshu BW (32-17) in Nagano 113-91 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Sendai 89ers was better in fourth quarter 30-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Wendell Wendell (198-84, college: UNLV) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Travele Travel (203-88, college: Texas Southern) added 21 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Five Shinshu BW and four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW maintains fourth position with 32-17 record. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the seventh place with 26 games lost. Shinshu BW will face Gunma (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's second-placed Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
