Very predictable result when sixth ranked Aomori Watts (26-24) won against on the road 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (4-46) 88-76 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-76. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Swingman Makoto Sawaguchi (184-91) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Aomori Watts' coach Shiko Kotobuki used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Michael Joiner (200-81, college: Florida St.) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Mark Dawson (206-83, college: Long Beach St.) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Saitama Broncos lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 46 games lost. Aomori Watts will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play against Niigata Albirex (#5) and hope to win that game.
