Regular Season Round 13: Navolato - Los Mochis 88-113

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (6-5) smashed on the road 4th placed Garra Canera de Navolato (6-5) 113-88. The game was mostly controlled by Pioneros Los Mochis. Garra Canera de Navolato was better in second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pioneros Los Mochis dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Garra Canera de Navolato's 42. They outrebounded Garra Canera de Navolato 42-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) nailed 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard D'angelo Jackson (185, college: Miss.Valley St., agency: Interperformances) accounted for 24 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) came up with 32 points and 8 rebounds and guard Adrian Jesus Villalobos (183) added 13 points respectively for Garra Canera de Navolato in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros Los Mochis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Navolato. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play again at home against Pioneros Los Mochis (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
