Budivelnyk celebrated comfortable victory in the Superleague semifinal series opener. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Azovmash to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Budivelnyk shot 21 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Azovmash only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Azovmash 43-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Azovmash helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Igor Zaytsev (210-89) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Azovmash. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
