Quarter-Finals Round 4: Wels - Gmunden 44-65

Gmunden stunned Wels on the road to force the fifth game in the series. It looked good early as Raiffeisen Wels took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gmunden Swans had a 17-15 second period charge getting the lead and Raiffeisen Wels were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 44-65. Gmunden Swans dominated on the defensive end, holding Raiffeisen Wels to just 6 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. Gmunden Swans made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored that evening 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import power forward Nick Wright (203-89, college: ODU) supported him with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Even 6 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) did not help to save the game for Raiffeisen Wels. German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Raiffeisen Wels' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
