The game in Guaymas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (8-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (3-10). Pioneros Los Mochis smashed Ostioneros de Guaymas 105-77. It looked good early as Ostioneros de Guaymas took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pioneros Los Mochis had a 25-8 second period charge getting the lead and Ostioneros de Guaymas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-105. Pioneros Los Mochis dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Ostioneros de Guaymas' 48. They outrebounded Ostioneros de Guaymas 53-35 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. 30 personal fouls committed by Ostioneros de Guaymas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Pioneros Los Mochis. They maintain fourth place with 8-5 record. Ostioneros de Guaymas lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play again at home against Pioneros Los Mochis (#4) and hope to win that game.
