Gussing overcame Oberwart in overtime and secured their semifinal ticket. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Redwell Gunners Oberwart won fourth quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 30 personal fouls committed by Redwell Gunners Oberwart helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) who added 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Heard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gussing Knights' coach Matthias Zollner used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Cape Verdean swingman B.J. Monteiro (195-90, college: Duquesne) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
