Very expected game when 10th ranked Aiolos Trikallon (9-16) was smashed by sixth ranked Aris (12-13) in Thessaloniki 88-57. The game without a history. Aris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Aris outrebounded Aiolos Trikallon 44-21 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Eleftherios Bochoridis (193-94) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and point guard Nikos Gikas (186-91) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Four Aris players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) responded with 13 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) scored 12 points and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aris have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 12-13 record, which they share with KAOD. Aiolos Trikallon lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Kolossos. Aris will play against Kolossos (#11) in Rodou in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against KAOD and hopes to get back on the winning track.
