An interesting game for Frayles de Guasave (10-3) which hosted in Guasave 3rd placed Tijuana Zonkeys (9-4). Second ranked Frayles de Guasave managed to get a 9-point victory 102-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But Tijuana Zonkeys won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frayles de Guasave made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Frayles de Guasave outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 36-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) scored 25 points. Frayles de Guasave have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-3 record behind leader Hermosillo. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. Frayles de Guasave will again play against Tijuana Zonkeys (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round.
