Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Tigers (3-5) won against at home 14th ranked Suns (2-9) 111-99 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 38-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Tigers made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Tigers outrebounded Suns 47-32 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Suns were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American guard Quinn McDowell (196-90, college: William & Mary) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward John Dickson (198-90, college: Sacramento St.) contributed with 31 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Louis Timms (205-91) answered with 29 points and 9 rebounds and Sudanese-American forward Adhar Mayen (203-89, college: Hawaii) added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Suns. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tigers moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Suns keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Magic (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suns will play against Slammers (#9) and hope to win that game.
