Finals Game 1: BG 89 Avides - Braunschweig 82-64

BG 89 Avides rallied past Braunschweig in the opening game of the Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Rotenburg/Scheessel. Braunschweig managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braunschweig to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 24 Braunschweig turnovers and had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Emma lina Stach (175-96) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Rotenburg/Scheessel's coach Christian Greve used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Britta Hueske-Boecher (176) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Alysha Womack (170-91, college: Monmouth) scored 16 points.
