Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Magic (6-2) defeated 14th ranked Suns (2-9) in Kalamunda 126-115 on Saturday. The game without a history. Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 65.7 percent from the field and made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Magic outrebounded Suns 45-28 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Magic especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Suns were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Paul Hafford (195-84, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import power forward Taylor Mullenax (200-86, college: St.Edward's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. Sudanese-American forward Adhar Mayen (203-89, college: Hawaii) answered with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Benjamin Smith (192-89) added 27 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Suns. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suns' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Magic moved-up to third place in League. Loser Suns keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Magic will face Tigers (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play against Slammers (#9) and hope to win that game.
