Rather predictable result when leader Mount Gambier Pioneers (7-0) rolled over 4th placed Bandits (1-4) in Albury 95-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mount Gambier Pioneers. Bandits was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for guard Matt Sutton (190-84) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Mount Gambier Pioneers players scored in double figures. American point guard Jamar Briscoe (177-90, college: Pikeville, agency: Two Points) answered with 26 points and point guard Jack Duck (183-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bandits. Bandits' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains first place in League with 7-0 record. Loser Bandits dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will face Knox Raiders (#5) in Wantirna South in the next round. Bandits will play on the road against Kilsyth Cobras and hope to win that game.
