Regular Season Round 57: Aomori Watts - Kyoto Hannar. 71-86

Rather predictable result when second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (34-17) defeated on the road 6th ranked Aomori Watts (26-25) 86-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Aomori Watts was better in fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aomori Watts 41-30 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kyoto Hannar. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Crosse) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Yu Okada (184-83) chipped in 20 points. The best for the losing side was American power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyoto Hannar. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 34-17 record having five points less than leader Okinawa GK. Loser Aomori Watts dropped to the fourth position with 25 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will have a break next round. Aomori Watts will play again at home against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
