Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (5-4) rolled over at home 8th ranked Devils (3-5) 121-94 on Saturday. Diamond Valley Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Devils' 52. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for guard Matt Reynolds who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists. Forward Matthew Fennell contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. American forward Aaron McCuin (198, college: Paul Quinn) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and the other American import point guard Rustin Dowd (180, college: MidAmerica Naz.) added 30 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Devils. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Valley Eagles maintains fifth place in League with 5-4 record. Loser Devils dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will face Sherbrooke Suns (#7) in the next round. Devils will play against Hawthorn and hope to win that game.
