Regular Season Round 33: Monaco - Vichy 65-54

NM1 top team - Monaco (28-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked JA Vichy (21-13) 65-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JA Vichy. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. JA Vichy managed to win third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding JA Vichy to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded JA Vichy 46-28 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian forward Milutin Aleksic (203-82) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Gregory Lessort (197-85) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and Octavio Da Silveira (204-89) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco maintains first place with 28-4 record. Loser JA Vichy dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. Monaco will meet JSA Bordeaux (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. JA Vichy will play against Cognac BB and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
