Regular Season Round 33: Cognac - Angers BC 72-75

Fourteenth-ranked Cognac BB (14-20) gave a tough game to second ranked Angers BC (24-9) on Saturday. The visitors from Angers managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 12 points. Angers BC's coach Vincent Lavandier used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Maxime Choplin (177-92) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists and Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cognac BB players scored in double figures. Angers BC have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 24-9 record having three points less than leader Monaco. Cognac BB at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Angers BC are looking forward to face Saint-Brieuc (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cognac BB will play against JA Vichy and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
