The game in Saint Chamond was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Sorgues BC (21-12) played at the court of seventh ranked Saint Chamond (21-12). Saint Chamond managed to secure a 4-point victory 90-86 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sorgues BC. Sorgues BC trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 86-90 at the end of the game. Saint Chamond looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (194-85) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) with 30 points and center Xavier Pasut (200-84) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Saint Chamond moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sorgues. Saint Chamond will face Pontoise (#15) in Cergy in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sorgues BC will play at home against ADA Blois (#8) and hope to win that game.
