Regular Season Round 57: Oita H.Devils - Takamatsu FA 76-80 OT

Oita Heat Devils (#8) forced the game against Takamatsu FA (#7) into an overtime, but lost by four points 76-80 on Saturday night. The game took place in Oita. But the guests from Takamatsu were better at the end. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime then Oita Heat Devils managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Takamatsu FA who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-8. American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 7 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Hiroki Oshiro (172-88) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Takamatsu FA maintains seventh place with 22-29 record. Oita Heat Devils lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 30 games lost. Takamatsu FA will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Takamatsu FA (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
