There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Stirling S. (4-3) won against much higher ranked Buccaneers (7-3) in Perth 108-94 on Sunday. The game without a history. Stirling S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Buccaneers outrebounded Stirling S. 52-38 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Buccaneers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for swingman Joshua Throns (195-93) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Jordan Wild (203-88, college: Fresno Pacific) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five Stirling S. players scored in double figures. American-Ghanian forward Odartey Blankson (199-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) answered with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Carter Cook (195-89, college: USC Upstate) added 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Buccaneers. Buccaneers' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stirling S. moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Buccaneers keep the second position with three games lost. Stirling S. will face Hawks (#8) in the next round. Buccaneers will play against the league's leader Flames (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
