Second Stage Round 10: Trefl Sopot - Anwil 91-78

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sopot. Third ranked Trefl Sopot faced one of their biggest challengers Anwil. Host Trefl Sopot (22-10) defeated guests from Wloclawek (16-16) 91-78. It looked good early as Anwil took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trefl Sopot had a 23-21 second period charge getting the lead and Anwil was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-91. Worth to mention a great performance of international Michal Michalak (196-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. The former international forward Marcin Stefanski (200-83) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Trefl Sopot's coach Darius Maskoliunas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) added 15 points in the effort for Anwil. Trefl Sopot maintains third position in Places 1-6 with 22-10 record having just three points less than leader PGE Turow. Anwil lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Rosa Radom.
