An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Luxembourg. Second ranked Racing faced 3rd placed Residence. Host Racing (18-11) smashed guests from Bereldange (9-19) 86-62. The game was mostly controlled by Racing. Residence was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Residence 47-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Billy McNutt (203-85) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 21 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American swingman Scott Morton (197-87, college: Geneseo St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Racing players scored in double figures. American guard Darryl Hudson (195-85, college: Howard, agency: COSMOS International SM) produced 26 points and international point guard Max Schmit (182-92) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Racing maintains second place in League with 18-11 record having just -1 point less than leader Etzella. Loser Residence keeps the third position with 19 games lost. Racing will face Grengewald (#4) in Niederanven in the next round. Residence will play on the road against the league's second-placed Soleuvre in Belvaux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
