Quarter-Finals Round 4: Alges - Sampaense 79-81 OT

Sampaense used overtime to hand the third defeat to Alges in the series. Alges were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in overtime 15-17s. Alges were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: Savannah St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Sao Tome and Principe power forward Ekjersey Viana (203-77) who added 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Shuler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sampaense players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Guinea-Bissau forward Josimar Cardoso (201-87) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Joao Santos (204-79, college: Nevada) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Alges' coach Andre Martins rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
