Crailsheim upset NBC on the road and sealed their championship series appearance. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 40-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Crailsheim Merlins made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who added 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Willie Young used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) responded with 14 points and forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
