Very expected game when 7th ranked Sendai 89ers (24-28) were rolled over at home by second ranked Iwate Big Bulls (40-12) 99-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Sendai 89ers was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Sendai 89ers' 44. They outrebounded Sendai 89ers 41-30 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Sendai 89ers' players. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 40-12 record having just three points less than leader Toyama Grouses, which they share with Akita NH. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game.
