Regular Season Round 17: Hermosillo - Navolato 80-85

Top ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (12-3) recorded its third loss at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (7-8) 85-80. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Dominique Lacy (201-89, college: NC-Wilmington) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Joel Smith (193-90, college: Northeastern) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St.) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Garra Canera de Navolato and five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Garra Canera de Navolato maintains fifth place with 7-8 record. Defending champion Rayos de Hermosillo still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Guasave. Garra Canera de Navolato will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play again at home against Garra Canera de Navolato and is hoping to win this game.
