Regular Season Round 43: Hyeres-Toulon - Souffel 71-59

Date: April 29, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Souffelweyersheim (19-24) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (22-21) 71-59. The game was mostly controlled by Hyeres-Toulon. Souffelweyersheim was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hyeres-Toulon forced 19 Souffelweyersheim turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Axel Julien (185-92) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 5 assists. American guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (203-88) came up with 8 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Drake Reed (196-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: KMG Sports Management) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Souffelweyersheim in the defeat. Hyeres-Toulon maintains ninth place with 22-21 record, which they share with St Quentin. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim keeps the twelfth position with 24 games lost. Hyeres-Toulon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Chalons-Reims (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Souffelweyersheim will play against ALM Evreux (#6) and hope to win that game.
