Another exciting game was between fourth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys and 3rd placed Pioneros Los Mochis where Tijuana Zonkeys (10-5) beat Pioneros Los Mochis (9-6) on the road 93-88. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Pioneros Los Mochis. Pioneros Los Mochis were ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 52-42 second half run of Tijuana Zonkeys. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tijuana Zonkeys moved-up to third place. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play again at home against Tijuana Zonkeys (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
