Kapfenberg toppled visiting Wels to surge ahead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Kapfenberg Bulls. Raiffeisen Wels was better in second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kapfenberg Bulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Raiffeisen Wels' players. American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-87, college: Boise St., agency: Court Side) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American swingman Ian Boylan (197-83, college: CS Northridge) accounted for 9 points and 10 assists. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ghanian-American guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (188-88, college: N.Iowa) came up with 15 points and German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Raiffeisen Wels in the defeat. Four Raiffeisen Wels players scored in double figures.
