We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (7-10) defeated on the road 5th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (7-10) 96-80. The game was mostly controlled by Caballeros de Culiacan. Garra Canera de Navolato was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caballeros de Culiacan brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Navolato. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play again at home against Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
