Another exciting game was between third ranked Cedevita and second-ranked KK Zadar where Cedevita (7-1) beat KK Zadar (6-2) on the road 87-79. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-8. KK Zadar was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. American point guard Nolan Smith (187-88, college: Duke) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Marino Bazdaric (195-78, agency: XL Basketball Agency) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Center Ive Ivanov (200-85) replied with 23 points (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for KK Zadar. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Cedevita have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of Places 1-8 leader, which they share with Cibona. KK Zadar at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Cedevita will play against Jolly (#4) in Sibenik in the next round. KK Zadar will play on the road against Alkar Sinj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
