Finals Game 1: Wasserburg - Oberhausen 76-52

Wasserburg held off Oberhausen to take 1-0 lead in the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by TSV 1880 Wasserburg. Oberhausen managed to win fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oberhausen to just 7 points in third quarter. American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and her fellow American import Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Bastian Wernthaler felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Dutch forward Sharon Beld (186-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (168-86, college: S.Carolina) scored 18 points and 4 assists.
