Regular Season Round 44: Maurienne - St Vallier 79-78

Eighteenth-ranked Saint Vallier (14-30) was very close to win a game against eighth ranked Aix-Maurienne (24-20) in Aix-les-Bains on Friday. Aix-Maurienne managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Saint Vallier was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-16 charge of Aix-Maurienne, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American Dar Tucker (193-88, college: De Paul) who scored that evening 16 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Congolese power forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson, agency: Two Points) supported him with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Saint Vallier. His fellow American import Steve Smith (200-81, college: Iona) added 27 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Fos Ouest. Loser Saint Vallier stay dead last with 30 lost games.
