Ethias League top team - Oostende (27-7) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Kangoeroes (6-28) 99-54. The game without a history. Oostende led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Oostende forced 21 Kangoeroes turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Kangoeroes' players. American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) fired 26 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. Polish swingman Mateusz Ponitka (197-93) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Maurice Pearson (206-89, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oostende have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 27-7 record. Kangoeroes lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 28 lost games. Oostende will meet at home Okapi Aalstar (#4) in the next round. Kangoeroes will play against Spirou Charleroi (#3) and hope to secure a win.
