Zalgiris overcame a fierce opposition from Pieno Zvaigzdes to clinch their semifinal tickets. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But P.Zvaigzdes won fourth quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by P.Zvaigzdes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 4 assists. International Martynas Pocius (196-86, college: Duke, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points for the winners. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for P.Zvaigzdes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
