Regular Season Round 34: Angers BC - Saint-Brieuc 88-65

Date: May 3, 2014
There was no surprise when 16th ranked Saint-Brieuc (10-24) was crushed on the road by second ranked Angers BC (25-9) 88-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Angers BC. Saint-Brieuc was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Angers BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists for the winners. Center Julien Bestron (205-86) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Nicolas Kaczmarow (204-83) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Angers BC have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-9 record having five points less than leader Monaco. Saint-Brieuc lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 24 games lost.
