Eighth-ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (5-14) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (11-8). The visitors from Los Mochis managed to secure only two-point victory 114-112. However their fans expected much easier game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 38-32 third quarter run of Pioneros Los Mochis. They made 39-of-45 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Fuerza Guinda Nogales only scored nineteen points from the stripe. Fuerza Guinda Nogales were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import guard D'angelo Jackson (185, college: Miss.Valley St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) answered with 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists and forward Jorge Salcedo (194-85) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pioneros Los Mochis maintains fourth place with 11-8 record. Fuerza Guinda Nogales lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against Pioneros Los Mochis (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
