Regular Season Round 22: Hermosillo - Guasave 87-77

An interesting game for Rayos de Hermosillo (16-4) which hosted in Hermosillo their biggest opponent Frayles de Guasave (15-5). First ranked Rayos de Hermosillo managed to get a 10-point victory 87-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Rayos de Hermosillo. Frayles de Guasave managed to win second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rayos de Hermosillo made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard Joel Smith (193-90, college: Northeastern) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Alonso Izaguirre (200-76) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Frayles de Guasave. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-4 record. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo are looking forward to face Ostioneros de Guaymas (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Frayles de Guasave will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
