Third Stage Round 3: Mersin Univ. - Orman 75-79

Orman upset Mersin Univ. to take 2-1 record in the Final Stage of the tournament. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mersin Univ. won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orman won last quarter 22-20. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin Univ.'s 34. Orman looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St.) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Dilek Bicer (183-83) chipped in 14 points. Four Orman players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian center Elena Staschuk (192-85, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Rana Derin (175-92) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Mersin Univ.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
