Second Stage Round 4: Guaiqueries - Marinos 64-66

The most exciting game of round 4 in the LPB took place in Porlamar. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Guaiqueries (2-6) to first ranked Marinos (4-2) 66-64 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 16-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and American-Liberian power forward Samuel Hoskin (206-79, college: De Paul, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Richard Lugo (209-73, college: St.Francis, NY) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Marinos maintains first position in Group A with 4-2 record, which they share with Trotamundos. Guaiqueries lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Marinos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guaiqueries will play on the road against the league's leader Trotamundos in Valencia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
