Balkan defeated Levski Sofia to open win count in the semifinal series. Levski Sofia was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-16 charge of Balkan, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Levski Sofia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Noah Dahlman (200-89, college: Wofford) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international Pavel Marinov (199-88, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Balkan's coach Aleksandar Todorov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Brandon Heath (190-84, college: San Diego St.) produced 24 points and 9 assists and international Hristo Zahariev (199-90) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side.
