EWE Basket held off Telekom Baskets in the opening game of the playoffs. Telekom Baskets were ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 25-10 charge of EWE Baskets, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) answered with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's, agency: Two Points) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Telekom Baskets.
