Important game to mention about took place in Barquisimeto. First ranked Cocodrilos (5-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging their biggest opponent Guaros (3-4) 80-79 in the fight for the first place. Guaros cut a 19-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. The winners were led by international Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) supported him with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by forward Jose Martinez (196-82) did not help to save the game for Guaros. American guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 18 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cocodrilos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in Group B with 5-1 record. Guaros at the other side keep the second place with four games lost. Cocodrilos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guaros will play on the road against Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
