Belfius Mons-Hainaut smashed VOO Verviers-Pepinster 100-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Belfius Mons-Hainaut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Belfius Mons-Hainaut outrebounded VOO Verviers-Pepinster 37-26 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St.) who scored that evening 25 points and the other American import swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) did not help to save the game for VOO Verviers-Pepinster. Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to second place. VOO Verviers-Pepinster lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 29 games lost.
